Cort Pedersen

Dr. Cort A. Pedersen is Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and in the Neurobiology Curriculum at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Most of his research has focused on the neuropeptide, oxytocin. Early on he discovered that oxytocin acts in the brain to trigger maternal behavior and sexual behavior in animals. In recent years, he has begun testing the effectiveness of oxytocin treatment in psychiatric disorders.
